Most likely, one your motivations as to why you went into an online business, or you’ve decided to be a virtual worker,  is to be able to create your own lifestyle. You neither like to have a 9-5 job nor to arrange your family and social lives around your work. In short, you want to have full control of your time.

A lot of online businesses these days don’t have a working system or a marketing funnel. Don’t get involved with these types. Sure, they have a product you can market and they’ll give you a handsome pay for your services but you’ll be left to do the rest. Without a working system or a marketing funnel, you’ll have to figure out your own method of turning your leads and traffic into sales. You’ll then spend a lot more time working than you expect because you’ll have to solely think of ways to expand the business and increase gains.

You’ll be stuck with a non-starter

If you won’t receive any training on how to get leads, then how are you going to start generating income in the first place?  You don’t want to pester your friends and family just to have leads, do you? Without leads, there’s no way your business will ever expand.

You’ll have to run your business 24/7

You’ll never be free from operating your business. You’ll be tied down 7 days a week, 12 hours a day, and even if you’re supposed to be having a break, you’ll still be monitoring it. A good system may not entirely take all your work hours off you. But it does allow you to step away from your business whenever you like. And the beauty of it is that you’ll still be earning income while you’re “away”.

You won’t achieve your goals

There exist many online marketing systems. The most popular niches are: Direct Sales, MLM, Affiliate Marketing, Internet Marketing, and ecommerce. Each system has its own advantages and disadvantages. If you won’t choose the system that best matches your needs and objectives, the more unlikely that you’ll fulfill them. So consider carefully the pros and cons of every system and select the right one for you.

For example, if you don’t need a quick buck, you’ll surely work well with MLM. MLM is a business model that’s geared for the long term and will earn you residual income. It’s also the best system for you if you just enjoy what you’re doing, or you just want to have a sideline or an extra income.

However, if you want immediate cash, say to pay a debt or to increase your annual corporate income, then go for direct sales. Direct sales pays you upfront since it employs the “get paid today” compensation model.  Though they do not focus on residual income, they do pay high commissions and give you incentives for your efforts.

Therefore, have a thorough understanding of what a particular system can realistically provide, think of what you really what to achieve, and then select the vehicle for you. This way, you won’t go wrong.
